A Little Bump...

We have had 4 glorious days of smiles, hugs and kisses. We worried it was too good to be true. Today, we hit a wall. When they recommend "cocooning", they might actually mean it. I have never had a child who had a full-out tantrum. Unfortunately, his big sister got the best of it. (we were birthday shopping) We have done nothing but meet people, run errands, play, play, play, meet more people; visitors and going places...and more play. We still struggled with our sleep and jet lag, but he seemed fine. I guess not. After a huge display of kicking and screaming, he passed out for a 5-hour nap! Wow! He woke for a couple of hours, had a bath and then went to bed for the night. Tomorrow will be a better day...

Tomorrow, Lauren will be 17! Happy Birthday, sweetheart! It's been quite the birthday week!

  2. Oh Tina, so sorry that he got so upset. Yikealo has had his moments too - so far we've only introduced him to a couple of David's family members during very short visits, but he's acted very strange during those visits: baby-talking, showing off, becoming very clingy to David and completely ignoring me. I know that when David's sister stopped by the other night, Yikealo thought he was going to have to leave with her, and he cried and clung. As soon as she left, he was all smiles, and was almost TOO good for the rest of the night. I think that almost ANYTHING can be overwhelming for these little ones right now, but they'll come out of it soon enough. It just might take a little while. ((Hugs))

  3. Biruktawit hasn't had any tantrums, but she has had a few moments where she was really sad and didn't want to talk. I took out a story book and read to her and changed the names to prince Bereket and princess Biruktawit. She loved it. That was a few weeks ago. Last night she brought me the book and told me it was prince Bereket and she wanted me to read again:)
